A kimono art panel made by upcycling under-kimono called nagajuban.

The nagajuban that became the basis for this panel set is a piece from the early Showa era.

This nagajuban
has been sleeping in a closet for many years, but I decided to make use of the undamaged part and remade it into an art panel.

Chrysanthemum is a symbol of high rank, longlivety and safety. It is used in Japan emperor's family crest. Chrysanthemum is often used in decorating houses for New Year and other festive occasions in Japan. It has a strong stem and lives long even after being cut, so is considered a symbol of long life.
