This interior art panel was upcycled from beautiful antique silk fukuro-obi.

This festive colorful obi was made of pure orange silk, with red, golden, green and blue pattern of phoenix, peony, iris pattern. All the elements of this pattern are considered to be lucky, so it will be for sure your lucky item in your interior!

This obi was used for festive occasions before, but it was sleeping in a closet for many years.

Some parts were discolored, so I upcycled the undamaged fabric into panels.

Phoenix is a formal kimono pattern that is often worn for special occasions such as coming-of-age ceremonies and weddings. The phoenix has been a legendary bird in China since ancient times, and is said to have appeared as an omen of peace, and is considered a symbol of peace and happiness. The egg of the phoenix is considered to be an elixir of perpetual youth and longevity, and the phoenix itself has the meaning of “perpetual youth and longevity” and “rejuvenation”.
